A is for Activate! (Izaia and Indigo, not Jayna and Zan)

Hey Superfriends and Superfamily!

I hope all is well. I just wanted to post a quick note (our first!) to let you know that our family has graduated into homeschooling! Indigo and Izaia have begun their homeschooling studies, having recently transitioned from their public charter school 3rd grade and pre-K classrooms. In lieu of formal public schooling in the classroom setting, they will spend most of their time learning, reading, working and having fun outside and in their community. They will be covering an exciting curriculum that includes those traditional favorites such as the 3 R's, social studies, mathematics, science, the arts and music, gym class, health class, etc and also incorporates a great deal of practical hands-on learning & technology, community and home service, and spirituality. They are currently representing south Baltimore with Meals on Wheels route #4 twice a week, and are preparing for some exciting summer camp adventures (Ajawah and basketball)!

While Jeremy will be the primary homeschool leader, it should be great fun for the whole family and represents one more way in which knowledge can be gained, love can be shared and our community can be served by all. We thank you so much for your support and best wishes in our journey!

This blog will cover many of our exploits and will hopefully serve as a platform for stories, pictures, kids and adults columns, and the like. Please check back with us regularly so that we can share with you what we are up to.
