L is for Learning (by Doing)...

Hey Friends, Family, and Familiars...

Cheers and good health to one and all, and here's to the brothers and sisters that aren't here.

We are working towards the kids taking full ownership over their education. We continously talk about the reasons to learn new facts and skills, develop new relationships and improve existing ones, and further condition and exercise both body and mind. In our safe and loving environment, we are learning by reading, writing, singing, dancing, experimenting, cooking, loving, and by doing.

So what have we been doing lately?

Going to the B & O Railroad Museum...

Hanging Out at the Maryland State Fair...

Drivin' Tractor (Yes, those are J.I. CASE Co. Tractors...Go Eagles!)

Racin' Pigs...

Pettin' Pigs...

Watchin' Chainsaw sculpture...

The Nascar Truck Series...

and Hot Chicks...(no really, they were under the incubator!)

Also at the Maryland state fair, we discovered...

1st place nuts

and 3rd place nuts

along with a big ole' Crazy Hog

What else have we been learning by doing?

ARt, history and fun through sculpture...

Culinary Chemistry and Practical Math with cooking...

(Indy made a box mix and Izaia made a wheat flour/gluten free cake from scratch all by themselves!)

Human biology and anatomy with Indy's broken arm (oh, no!!!)...

(Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he works hard to heal!!!)

Human biology and anatomy with a new baby girl (oh, yes!!!)...

(We're due in Jan/Feb)

This last week, we also learned about the Homeschool Portfolio Review Process in Maryland (we passed, yeah!), about Angel's meeting and surpassing all of her developmental milestones for her age (yeah!), and about Queen and the lyrics to we will rock you! (Check out the video)

Each day, I continue to be struck by their beauty and how they cannot help but to share it with the world...

Thanks for listening, and take care until next time,

Daddioso

K is for Kickin' It...

Hey all! How's it hanging? (Let's hear it for the sling action!)

In our latest home(made) school and pie shop endeavors, we've been kickin' it: around town, on the dance floor, and on the soccer field. Enjoy the pics!
Daddy and baby Angel's father-daughter solo trip to the Aquarium!
Meg and the kids getting ready for the Women in Medicine BBQ (no, they didn't actually BBQ a woman in medicine...I think they had pork).

The kids playing at Gunpowder Falls State Park...
(Here's Zaia on the zipline)

Baby Angel met her first Baby Deer!!! (ohh, fawn-cy)

Here is Angel perfecting the art of the Smurf-cycle...
(always begin by kick testing the tire)

Check out the suspension
Ready to ride?

Don't forget your helmets!!!

Izaia and Indy have also been kickin' it at soccer camp with the Baltimore Blast,

and on the dance floor (check out the video)...

Here's your where's waldo segment for the kids...(Can you find Izaia in this photo?)

There she is, about 15 ft up!

We're so excited about our homecoming to the midwest. Our home(made) school and pie shop will be packing up shop and moving back to Minnesota next June. We can't wait to hang out with friends and family in the Twin Cities, Racine, Madison, Rochester, Rockford, and the rest!

In the meantime...Getting ready for Minnesota hockey? (Family skating & broomball lessons to follow?)

Thanks for your love and support!
Take care,
Daddioso
