E is for Ecstatic!!! (from the Greek ekstatikos)...

Daddioso's home(made) school and pie shop is proud to introduce its newest student--we have been blessed with our sweet Angel, the newest member of our family. She is 13 months old and already walking, (baby-)signing, dancing, laughing, and certainly loving. She has fit right into our family and our homeschooling world and we are so lucky she has come into our lives.

During library time...(Izaia is an expert librarian and story teller!)

On our Meals on Wheels run (her first!)...

Phys-Ed (who's that handsome basketball coach in the background?)...

The Dramatic Arts...

Seriously, no one would have thought that an entire family of folks could fall in love so quickly. We look forward to seeing and hearing from you all real soon.

Love,

Jeremy, Meg, Izaia, Indy and Angel

D is for (Special) Delivery...

Part of our home(made) school curriculum includes participating in the Meals on Wheels program 2-3 days a week. Picture-wise, it looks pretty much like us riding around South Baltimore in our van (which smells like the tasty meal o' the day), but it is a cool experience where we get to visit with a wide range of people of different ages and abilities who live around the city and need and appreciate a hot meal (and a cold one too--they get one of each everyday). Our favorite person is Frank, the South Site coordinator for Meals on Wheels, a very cool and down to earth guy who helps keep the MOW ship afloat. Besides SoBo and the Federal Hill area, we travel through Pigtown, Locust Point and a few other areas. (Route 4 [and sometimes 2] represent!)

Here is Izaia at a fountain outside a nursing home we deliver to...

Take care out there!

C is for (What's) Cooking (good lookin')...

Amongst other things in our home(made) school curriculum are included practical math skills (like measuring, doubling/tripling recipies, estimating, etc) and 'culinary' chemistry. Under loving construction here: Pie crusts for a sweet pumpkin pie.

Izaia can also earn one of her chores by planning and preparing a weekly dinner: this week was spaghetti dinner!

And in other happy news: Meg continues her 'green' ways with a new (o.k. 3rd hand; but isn't that green too?) bike for mother's day. Happy Mother's day to all you big mama's out there. WE love you and so appreciate your love and support!

(yes, she will be biking outside of our living room too!)
Take care,
Daddioso

B is for Business...

No, not that business; keep that business to yourself!

Here are some cool photos from our early homeschool exploits...(and yeah that is Indy's and my sweet paint job on his new bike--handed down graciously from his sister)

A is for Activate! (Izaia and Indigo, not Jayna and Zan)

Hey Superfriends and Superfamily!

I hope all is well. I just wanted to post a quick note (our first!) to let you know that our family has graduated into homeschooling! Indigo and Izaia have begun their homeschooling studies, having recently transitioned from their public charter school 3rd grade and pre-K classrooms. In lieu of formal public schooling in the classroom setting, they will spend most of their time learning, reading, working and having fun outside and in their community. They will be covering an exciting curriculum that includes those traditional favorites such as the 3 R's, social studies, mathematics, science, the arts and music, gym class, health class, etc and also incorporates a great deal of practical hands-on learning & technology, community and home service, and spirituality. They are currently representing south Baltimore with Meals on Wheels route #4 twice a week, and are preparing for some exciting summer camp adventures (Ajawah and basketball)!

While Jeremy will be the primary homeschool leader, it should be great fun for the whole family and represents one more way in which knowledge can be gained, love can be shared and our community can be served by all. We thank you so much for your support and best wishes in our journey!

This blog will cover many of our exploits and will hopefully serve as a platform for stories, pictures, kids and adults columns, and the like. Please check back with us regularly so that we can share with you what we are up to.
